      This venue can also be hired for parties and function. Cash Bar available.

  Activities and Places of Interest  
   
  • Mine Tours
      This is recommended for the adventurous guest. A visit to a producing gold mine is a major tourist
      attraction in the region. The tour includes a visit to an underground working place approx. 2000m below
      below surface and a gold pour. The tour will give you insight into why Gold is one of the most precious
      and sought after metals on earth.
      Please note that the tour is not for children, physically disabled or medically unfit persons.
 
  • Game Viewing
      The Kraalkop Nature Reserve is just 10 minutes away. It features a game viewing trail where 14 of
      South Africa's antelope species can be viewed as well as zebra, blue wildebeest, ostrich and giraffe.
      The reserve is situated in the picturesque Gatsrandte and features a hilly landscape with fresh water
      springs and indigenous flora in abundance.
 
  • Airfield (landing strip)
    There is an airfield approx 5 Kms away from the The RenGwe Guest House.

  • Shopping - The Town of Fochville
      The country town of Fochville is just 5 minutes away by car, where arguably the "cheapest" priced
      supermarket in South Africa (as reported in the media). The President Hyper, can be found in the
      town centre.
      The town of Carletonville is 18kms from The RenGwe Guest House. Here many of the well known 
      chain stores can be found and shoppers will be able to find anything which they might require.
      Major shopping centres exist within 30 minutes. Key West in Krugersdorp, the Westgate complex
      in Roodepoort and the new Clear Water Mall in Strubens Valley, Roodepoort.
 
  • Golf
      Golf is a popular pastime in this area, with two 18 Hole Golf Courses and one 9 Hole Mashe course 
      in close proximity to The RenGwe Guest House. The Courses are the Blyvooruitzicht Golf Course
      Tel: (018-789 9276) and the Goldfields West Golf course (018-781-1570).
      The Mashe course is situated at the Western Deep Levels Gold Mine.
 
  • Horse Riding
      Horse Riding, at special rates can be arranged at the neighbouring farm for our guests, on request.
 
  • Hunting
      Bow hunting as well as rifle hunting excursions can be arranged for hunters. A game ranch offering a
    large selection of plains game, is situated approx.15kms from The RenGwe Guest House.
 
  • Township Visits
      Visits to the nearby township, Kokosi can be arranged which will include a stop over at a local
      Shebeen (traditional African bar) and a Sangoma (traditional African healer)
 
  • Vredefort Dome - World Heritage Site
      The Vredefort structure is currently regarded as the biggest and oldest clearly visible impact structure
      on Earth, with an impact crater approximately 90kms in width.
      It is estimated that the extreme impact event took place some 2000 million years ago, and was
      caused by a Meteorite measuring 10 kilometers in diameter.
      Vredefort is approx. 45 minutes away from the RenGwe Guest House.

  • Parys, the Vaal River & Fishing
      The Vaal River is just 30 minutes away. There are many choice fishing and camping spots, as close
      as just 20 minutes away on the R500 towards Parys, 
      The quaint riverside town of Parys boast numerous interesting antique shops and art galleries. 
      The town also forms of the part The Vaal Meander.
